An update with some true randomness from the Big Island of Hawaii in the shape of (mostly) pictures.
My running has been fine, I’m slowly adding my miles back on after having a disastrous fall where nothing really seemed to work in my life (therefor the running was failing too). I’m really enjoying being back at it and training for coming races (because, in 2014 there WILL be races!), although I might have been a bit too excited about the running and the added strength training because after Thursdays run my right calf is… Let’s just say “not happy”. It might be a bit of overuse, or a strain, so I’m simply giving it a few days to recover/heal and then I’ll keep training (smart-ER) again.
Friday morning I headed to the Farmers Market. I love love love markets and I love vegetables and fruits just as much and I can not for the love of my life understand why I’m not going to the market more often. It is open daily and to be honest, after yesterday I realized what an amazing start to the day it was. Friday was one of my happiest alone-nut-not-lonely days in a long while.
After the market I walked home in the beaming sun, realizing I had a way to short/flowy dress and that my tote bag filled with vegetables (I even had to get a plastic bag, I know shame on me!, to fit all my market finds) made my dress ride up. Gosh, it was a rough walk home. Buuuut, as you all say all the time – I live in “paradise” so I shall not complain. No but really, it was beautiful (and I’m sure the drivers passing by had seen worse).
As soon as I arrived back home my cat attacked me with LOVE (I think he really just wanted some food), I quickly changed into a swim suit, “inhaled” a perfect avocado and packed some fruit. And off to the beach park I went!
I got home from the beach park feeling relaxed, happy and… Hungry! So I quickly got some of my new veggies together and made this bowl of goodness:
I am not a party girl. I find myself content with spending weekend nights at home with my husband (and cat), a movie, some tea. And.. Nut butter!
The theme for my Friday was: Vegetables, Sunshine, Smiles, Love, Happiness and Beauty. I totally SCORED!
What’s your idea of a perfect weekend night?
Do you have a Farmers Market close by? Do you love it?!
