Hüma Gel Review – Blueberries & Mangoes

Last year I was fortunate enough to write a Hüma Gel Review here on evelinruns.com, I fell in love with these natural and very tasty “gels” right away. I was earlier this year sent two new flavors to try and review..

 What is Hüma?

Hüma Gels are 100% natural and the ingredients are all pronounceable (even for this immigrant)! The main ingredients are real fruits/berries and chia seeds. By now most of us are informed and maybe even convinced about the fact that chia seeds are a hit, right? Well, I am convinced anyways and use chia seeds as one of my daily go-to staples. I put them in smoothies, on top of my weetabix, on my nut butter toasts/bagels etc.

Hüma Gel Blueberry

For me, there is something special and almost magical about blueberries. We went out picking them every year when I grew up and I probably ate more than I actually brought with me home almost every time we went out in the forest to pick them.. The blueberries that didn’t end up in my belly right away my mom and I used to make pies, jam, or “saft” (a Swedish word for a syrup used, mixed with water to make tasty natural drinks) with. When I first saw the announcement that Hüma was about to release their blueberry gel I got, of course, very excited!

This blueberry chia gel was good! It definitely tastes like blueberries, but as I’m a lover of blueberries I would’ve wanted it to taste a bit more. What I really loved when I reviewed Hüma last year was the texture and I am happy to tell you that it is still just amazing! This is far from those super gooey gels out there, with a consistency more like a fruit paste it’s easier for me to ingest (and digest too it seems, as I have NO troubles with my belly with these energy gels).

Huma Gel Review Mango

Hüma Gel Mango

Just as blueberries are one of my favorites, mango is definitely high up on my fruits/berries list. Living in Hawaii I have probably eaten more mango than throughout my life before moving here. They are delicious! I was curious to see how Hüma did, turning this rather uncommon flavor (for sports nutrition, at least what I know of) into an energy gel. They did great! This gel tastes great and has that same texture of a fruit paste.

As for how Hüma Gel works for performance – for me this is a gel I can trust. It gives me energy, without the hassle of stomach troubles. No crash and burn energy, but a steady addition of fuel for my body to keep going strong.

I definitely recommend Hüma Chia Energy Gels for those of you who prefer natural and easy-on-the-stomach fuel for your activities.
