Evelin and Scandinavia

Evelin and Scandinavia 2014

As you all know by now, maybe especially looking at my total absence here at evelinruns.com, I have been gone for a while. I hurried up and went home to attend my uncle’s funeral and to get to some much needed time with my family after being homesick for.. Well, what felt like forever.

I was gone for just about 7 weeks. I spent a ridiculously high number of hours on the road (or in the air rather), I ran a lot, laughed a lot, cried a lot and hugged my loved ones even more.

Evelin and Scandinavia

Evelin and Scandinavia, they go pretty well together.

I visited New Jersey/NYC, Denmark, Norway and Sweden (never made it to Finland, shame on me!). I ate worse than I have in a long time, but oh well(?). I took the time to just be with my loved ones, yet I did a lot, saw a lot and took A LOT of photos.

To be honest, I don’t even know where to start with this vacation recap so I will split it up into several blogposts (The Places, The Running, The People etc) and try to tell you EVERYTHING that way. But first, some random numbers from the trip:

16.5: Kilograms of stuff in my suitcase when heading out of Kona.

4: The number of flights it took me to get to Oslo, Norway, from Hawaii.

2: Cats living at my parents place, both ‘left behind’ by me (but still very loved).

23.5: Hours of light/day at my grandparents place when I visited them.

5: Pairs of Skoras I had with me on the trip.

1: Suitcase broken.

7: Places I called ‘home’ during this trip – all of which really felt like home.

6: Number of flights from my family to Hawaii.

51: Hours it took me to get from my Swedish home (where I grew up) to my hometown in Hawaii.

23.2: Kilograms packed in my suitcase coming back to the US (overweight, but not charged for it – HURRAY!)

Q:

How’s your summer (or winter, if you’re on that side of the world) going?

Any fun adventures to share with me/us?

Is there anything specific you would like to know about my trip?
